			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Erectile dysfunction, or ED, can be a total inability to achieve erection, an inconsistent ability to do so, or a tendency to sustain only brief erections. These variations make defining ED and estimating its incidence difficult. Estimates range from 15 million to 30 million, depending on the definition used. According to the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS), for every 1,000 men in the United States, 7.7 physician office visits were made for ED in 1985. By 1999, that rate had nearly tripled to 22.3. The increase happened gradually, presumably as treatments such as vacuum devices and injectable drugs became more widely available and discussing erectile function became accepted. Perhaps the most publicized advance was the introduction of the oral drug sildenafil citrate (Viagra) in March 1998. NAMCS data on new drugs show an estimated 2.6 million mentions of Viagra at physician office visits in 1999, and one-third of those mentions occurred during visits for a diagnosis other than ED.</p>
<p>In older men, ED usually has a physical cause, such as disease, injury, or side effects of drugs. Any disorder that causes injury to the nerves or impairs blood flow in the penis has the potential to cause ED. Incidence increases with age: About 5 percent of 40-year-old men and between 15 and 25 percent of 65-year-old men experience ED. But it is not an inevitable part of aging.</p>
<p>ED is treatable at any age, and awareness of this fact has been growing. More men have been seeking help and returning to normal sexual activity because of improved, successful treatments for ED. Urologists, who specialize in problems of the urinary tract, have traditionally treated ED; however, urologists accounted for only 25 percent of Viagra mentions in 1999.</p>

Eating a variety of healthy foods is extremely important, especially during the first few months of the pregnancy. On average, pregnant women need an additional 300 calories to their normal caloric intake to sustain the needs of the baby&#8217;s growth in the womb. With a well-balanced diet, you can ensure a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.</p>
<p>Pregnancy and Nutrition.</p>
<p>The need to increase caloric intake does not only mean increase in food intake. It needs to be sourced from a variety of food. Getting all the essential food nutrients, especially iron, folic acid, B vitamins and other vitamins and minerals will only be possible if pregnancy diet includes dairy products, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, healthy fats and carbohydrates. The diet must be 10 percent protein, 35 percent fat and 55 percent carbohydrates.</p>
<p>What kind of foods must be eaten?</p>
<p>Healthy sources of protein include meat, cooked eggs, beans, and pasteurized dairy products. Fishes and sea foods are great sources of essential food nutrients but their consumption must be limited for they might be contaminated with toxic algae and mercury. Healthy fats and oils may be sourced from nuts, olives and some dairy products. Great sources of carbohydrates include whole wheat bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, corn, oats and whole grain cereals.</p>

A well-balanced daily meal should have five to six servings of whole grains, noodles or pasta, corn and other good sources of carbohydrates. It should include three to four servings of green leafy vegetables; one serving is equivalent to ½ cup cooked vegetables. Two daily servings of fruit should give enough vitamins and minerals that should strengthen the defense against illnesses and fiber to relieve and prevent constipation. Four to five servings of cooked meat, poultry, beans, nuts, tofu or eggs and other protein-rich foods should cover the daily protein requirement. Lastly, include one glass of milk or one serving of pasteurized milk products. Sugary,fatty and oily foods must be taken in moderation.</p>

<p>Cardiovascular Conditioning</p>
<p>First let me say that aerobic activity definitely is important when it comes to weight and fat loss, however you can go too far, which may be news to you!!.</p>
<p>Aerobic exercise is very popular with women of all ages, and some would have you to believe that endless hours of cardio is the key to a shapely body, but I have to tell you it&#8217;s not.</p>
<p>Not only is excess cardiovascular exercise not the best thing, but it can in fact be detrimental to successful weight loss. As a Fitness Coach this is probably the most common misconception in the health and fitness confusion.</p>
<p>In short excessive cardio will break down muscle tissue, and muscle tissue is metabolically active in the body, which basically means that it burns calories 24 hours a day even while you sit down or sleep.</p>
<p>So you want to preserve as much muscle as possible by limiting the cardiovascular exercise to around 30 min. 3-4 times per week. To supplement the weekly aerobic activity some form of strength training should also be included!</p>

<p>This portion of the fitness formula is often forgotten or just left out intentionally.</p>
<p>Really it is not very hard, overloading the muscle just means putting higher than normal amounts of stress on the various muscle groups in the body to ensure that all of your muscle is at least maintained while on a weight loss phase!</p>

In some men, this can result in narrowing of the tube that carries urine through the penis (the urethra) and so can cause difficulty in passing urine. If narrowing of the urethra does develop, it can usually be relieved by an operation to stretch (dilate) the area. The aim in a slimming process is to increase both these burning processes. In the terminology often used about slimming, this is often called &#8220;increasing your energy levels&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>A. THE FAT AND SUGAR BURNING PROCESS</strong></p>
<p>The burning of fat and sugar is composed of many chemical steps. Fat is first broken apart yielding free fatty acids. The fatty acids are then broken further down to pieces called acetyl. The sugar is also broken down to acetyl in a process called glycolysis, and the energy thus released is used to produce an energy-rich compound called ATP. The acetyl formed from the braking down of fat and sugar is then further combined with oxygen yielding carbon dioxide and water, and even more ATP is produced. The ATP produced is then used to release heat and to give energy for the bodily work.</p>
<p><strong>B. GET ALL THE NUTRIENTS YOU REQUIRE</strong></p>
<p>The process of braking down and burning fat and sugar uses vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids as working tools. Therefore your diet has to contain all these nutrients in the needed amount. Including vegetables or fruit in a natural form in every meal will help you get these nutrients.</p>
<p>Even though your generally shall reduce your fat consume, some types of food containing essential fatty acids should be a part of your daily diet, for example nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, olives, olive oil and fat fish.</p>

These compounds also increase the metabolic activities that produce heat by consume of fat and sugar. These compounds can also reduce the appetite. All these effects can together help to reduce an excessive weight.</p>
<p>However, these compounds also may give many unpleasant or dangerous effects, like addiction, insomnia, agitation, manic reactions, hypertension, stroke, heart valve damage and heart rhythm disturbances. Therefore amphetamine itself and many related compounds are by now banned in most societies as a means to reduce weight. Amphetamine was early banned and classified as an illegal narcotic. By now also these compounds has been banned after having been on the market for some time: aminorex, fenfluramine, phenylpropanolamine and ephedrine.</p>
<p>Substances of this group available on the market today as weight reduction aids are: Phentermine, diethylpropion, phenidmetrazine, benzphetamine, sibutramine, rimonabant, oxyntomodulin and fluoxetine hydrochloride (Prozac).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The number one question I get asked as a fitness specialist is &#8220;how do I lose weight without changing my habits&#8221;. Here&#8217;s a true story about me that happened just a while ago.</p>
<p>A number of weeks ago I took a break from being a nutritionist. and I was out of the town with my family on a nice little mini-vacation.</p>
<p>This was only a few days, but I still had a lot of free time to just relax and think to myself.</p>
<p>I often times I try to think of ways to improve my training, or improve my business, or how I handle my schedule each day.</p>
<p>Sometimes I just can&#8217;t relax one bit until I have it just so or near perfect in my mind, whatever it was I was trying to figure out at that moment.</p>
<p>One thought that did occur to me and I want to share it with you here is:</p>
<p>&#8220;As long as I&#8217;m improving, that&#8217;s all I can do.&#8221;</p>
<p>As long as I&#8217;m working toward that final goal of having things just right - I&#8217;m doing my best.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t do any more than my best.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t force the sand in an hourglass to go any faster by worrying about if or constantly obsessing with it.</p>
<p>That reminds me of just how nutrition and fitness are. No matter what you are doing at this moment, as long as your going forward and making gradual positive changes, you&#8217;re doing great.</p>
<p>The problem comes when you don&#8217;t do anything and still expect change.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t you dare focus on perfection - focus on your gradual changes! (or progression as suggested in the title of this article)</p>
<p>After all, any improvement is better than going in reverse. Just think about it like this, even if you only lose 2 ounces of pure fat each week - just that small amount - which is certainly easy. In 1 year that&#8217;s nearly 7 pounds of fat.25 pounds.</p>
<p>I know that sounds pitiful, but it&#8217;s progress. Would you rather gain 10 pounds in that same period of time.</p>
<p>I hope you work on improving at least 1 habit, or 1 action this week that will bring at least slight improvement toward your ultimate fitness goals.</p>
<p>I suggest picking 1 habit at a time and working to improve just that habit.</p>
<p>Week by week continue to improve on each habit.</p>
<p>Now go out and expect success!</p>

We see exercise as a punishment and we don&#8217;t associate enough pleasure with completing our fitness goals. When we feel reluctant to do a particular task or change a habit, we struggle to motivate ourselves and lose our enthousiasm. You need to create positive thoughts, pleasurable thoughts about how you will look and how good you will feel in the end. Positive thinking and focusing on the benefits of exercise can help you stay motivated. Another effective way is to focus on the end results if you don&#8217;t take action now. For instance, if wearing a swimsuit brings you undesirable feelings, painful thoughts, that might just help you stay committed to an exercise program.</p>
<p>However, to be able to achieve your goals, you must decide on what you really want. You need to have a clear vision on how you want to look like when you achieve your goal. Visualize yourself with the body you want, fix yourself an image in your mind and use it as an incentive. Write down your personal vision of your end result and read it often. Then you can establish weekly goals to help you get the body you want.</p>
<p>Wanting to change is not enough to get you started. If your desires are only a wish, then it will be a struggle turning your vision into reality. You need to develop a &#8220;must&#8221; feeling and view the changes as urgent. Creating urgency can only help you take action. If it&#8217;s important enough for you, it will lead you to positive action steps toward your fitness goals. The law of attraction states that what you focus on grows. If you think negative, you will get negative results. Do you always come up with a reason for not losing weight? Maybe you just can&#8217;t find time to exercise? If you believe that you can&#8217;t achieve your fitness goals, then you won&#8217;t. The only way you can be certain you&#8217;ll achieve your goals is by believing in them. When we think about something over and over again, repeating it to ourselves again and again, it becomes a belief. And when you feel certain, you do it.</p>
<p>Have you been struggling to lose body fat, trying all the diets and weight loss products out there only to end up right back where you started from? You need to understand that there is no quick, effortless way to lose weight. Crash diets are unhealthy. They will only work against your body in the long-run and set you up to failure. Changing your eating habits and exercising is not a punishment, it&#8217;s all about appreciating your body and doing everything you can to take care of it.</p>
<p>If you want results from your fitness program, you will have to put as much thought and effort into what you&#8217;re eating.
